The relationship between Thomas McClay and my 5Th Great Grandfather is unknown but suspected to be brothers. Rumors claim three brothers immigrated to Ireland from Uphall, Scotland. John McClay (circa 1760), Thomas McClay (circa 1755), and Andrew McClay (circa 1750) were born within a few years of each other and there is no known information on their parents. This is not particularly unusual as many churches and the church records were burned aroudn this time. It is quite possilbe these were three brothers but there is no supporting evidence.
